When a local club owner kept after Terry Mills to have a "Divas" concert, there was no such band as the Divas. Terry became tired of being pestered (love you Rod Bridgman) and threw out a net to the lady musicians she knew and admired. The plan was simple - see how many would be available, give everyone slots for solo time and then get together to collaborate on whatever songs they knew or wanted to do. They had 60 days and among six of them with jobs, other music commitments and collectively 11 kids under the age of 18 to juggle , they performed October 10, 2008. No one imagined at the time they had formed a bona fide band - they just collaborated and turned it loose to see what would happen.
A year and approximately 10 gigs later (no small feat for 6 women with commitments listed above), the Divas are known for strong vocals, surprising instrumentalists, diverse set lists, and a genuine appreciation for each other's talents and the audiences who support them.
